Snowshoe (virtual)
As we look to expand our School Championships program over the next few years, we will be hosting a number of various competition and sport opportunities to gauge interest across the Province. Although snowshoe is solely a virtual opportunity this year, depending on the number of schools interested, we would look to host a number of physical meets across Ontario next Winter.
Generic Rules: We have 3 race distance options this season that students can race and submit times for:
All athletes must supply their own equipment and race on a track/length that has been measured out by an educator or coach. Schools choose to race on their own or invite other local schools to have a physical meet where times are then submitted online for athletes. Calculating Results: Submitted times sent to SOO prior to the deadline will be placed into our Games Management System. Divisions will be set by age, gender, and ability level (based on submitted times). Athletes will then virtually 'compete' against each other, and placements will be allotted based on results in each division for each race. Placement ribbons will be mailed directly to participating schools. |
